We start with a reiteration of Angela's supposed maternal ties to Sylar and her statement that he needs "to be strong for what's to come." A second later, we're introduced to another Company operative, Bridgette, with the ability to see the history of objects she touches. Why is she there? To feed him. Angela proceeds to free Sylar then we hear Bridgette screaming.
The four escapees enter a bank and begin hold up procedures.
Noah returns to the company and makes it clear he wants to recapture the villians he put away that escaped during Elle's blow up. To do that, he needs his partner...'you know how this works - one of us, one of them.' Angela informs him that the Haitian is running an errand for her and introduces Noah to his new partner - Sylar.
Hiro and Ando track Daphne to some theater to retrieve the formula, but she informs them she's already turned it over to her employer. She also tells them there's another half, and she's there to intercept it. As she tries to run around the theater, she finds she's at regular speed. Thinking they have the advantage, Hiro attempts to stop time but finds his powers are gone too. Enter the Haitian. Later, Ando knocks out the Haitian and Hiro retrieves the second half of the formula but Daphne quickly grabs it.
Back at the bank, the cops start to surround them. The German is ready to escape but Knox punches through his chest, killing him while informing us that the plan wasn't about the money, but rather to lure Noah so they can exact revenge for locking them up. Noah enters the bank as a negotiation to free the hostages and Peter discover's Jesse's sonic power. As he uses it to attack Knox, Future Peter freezes time and frees Peter from Jesse's body. Future Peter then takes his counterpart and disappears to show him the world is in trouble. With Jesse back, both he and Knox are about to take their revenge when Sylar walks in. As they're about to take the prisoners back to the Company, Sylar allows Knox to escape while he slices open Jesse's head claiming "it's the hunger" as Noah watches. When they return to the Company, we see Ando and Hiro both in one of the cells and Sylar returns to his cell.
Claire and Meredith decide to play hookey from school, under the pretense of Meredith teaching her how to fight. Trapped in a cargo container, Meredith gets Claire to admit that despite her claims of wanting to help the world, she just wants to learn how to fight to take revenge on Sylar for making her feel victimized. Later she tells her mom she's off to a cheerleading sleepover but we see she driving off with a box of info from Primatech.
Parkman finds out about the african who turns out to have Issac's precog painting powers. He sees a painting of himself and a woman with a baby. But due to Future Peter's meddling, that future is no longer true according to the african. He paints over it with another picture - this time with his girl apparently dead. He goes into a trance to try and find some answers.
Tracy goes to New Orleans to find answers about Nikki, but instead finds Micah who helps her realize they may be twins (or more accurately triplets) and gets her the name of the doctor who delivered them, Dr. Zimmerman. Asking him if he knows her, he replies "know you? I created you."
So apparently in an attempt to humanize or make Sylar seem less villianous, his acts are explained by a 'hunger' to acquire powers. Isn't that a common defense - "I had to do it...I couldn't help myself". Or maybe it's a nod to addiction - maybe it's his dark passenger, the actual killing being incidental like Buffalo Bill. In any case, the explanation feels superficial and weak. We'll have to wait and see if there's any more to it later on or if it's just something they decided to throw in there.
I liked the exchange between Daphne and Hiro, kind of cute and funny...it's a nice break from all the drama and plot developements.
So the German is a master of magnetism. He uses this power to open the vault like any two-bit safe cracker, only instead of turning the dial by hand, he uses his power. Why not just rip the door off its hinges? That's definitely something Magneto would have done. I'm sure someone out there might want to say, 'oh, maybe he's not that strong or hasn't mastered his abilities to that extent.' Two words - budget constraint.
When Sylar kills Jesse (again with the hunger crap), Noah watches on but doesn't flinch. I'm glad he didn't, as this is keeping with his character.
And I'm guessing the chick in the painting is Daphne.
